America's BravestBravest

Dalton Carpet One Floor & Home in Athens, GA joined Building for America’s Bravest (BFAB) – a program of the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation – and its donors at a very special ceremony in Douglasville, GA on Monday, June 30, 2014 to dedicate a custom designed, specially adapted “Smart Home” for triple amputee Marine Corporal Todd Love.

Dalton Carpet One Floor & Home installed all the flooring and tile for the home which was designed to help Todd regain his independence and become more self-sufficient. Their participation in this project is part of a larger commitment by Carpet One Floor & Home to install all the flooring for smart homes built nationwide by Building for America’s Bravest.

Mike Blanton, owner of Dalton Carpet One Floor & Home, also presented Cpl. Love with a cash donation in the amount of $2000.

Cpl. Love was on patrol in Afghanistan on the morning of Oct. 25, 2010 when he triggered an improvised explosive device. He lost both his legs and his left arm.

“It was a great honor to help such a deserving individual as Todd in such an impactful way,” said Blanton. “We were overjoyed to see him receive the keys to his new home.”

While Carpet One Floor & Home stores are providing the installation of all flooring for BFAB’s smart homes, they have partnered with Mohawk to provide materials for the projects.

“This was a unique opportunity for us to work hand-in-hand with one of our suppliers in this way,” said Blanton.
